COMMANDER IOC/RTU

The medium-size COMMANDER™ Cardfile RTU provides advanced telemetry and control functions for SCADA (Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition) systems.

Each unit is constructed with cardfile(s) of applicable I/O cards (typically 8 point groups) and ancillary assemblies to meet site requirements. RTU configuration data is stored in non-volatile memories by use of a portable personal computer and/or commands from the Master Station.

The COMMANDER technology is highly reliable, field-proven, and in a second-generation design since its introduction in 1988. COMMANDER Cardfile RTUs are also upward compatible with the "open system" ENTERPRISE™ RTU/Station Computer family for long term evolutionary capabilities.

Functional

Event ("SOE") buffer (for applicable status points) timetags accurate within 1ms, provided no more than 8 events occur during any 10ms interval. SOE points assigned on a group (I/O card) basis.
Firmware tailors database to meet project requirements
Standard DI cards can be used for count accumulation, DC to 40Hz pulse signals (based on 10ms debounce time). Per requirements, database configured for form "A," form "C," or quadrature ("up/down") counters.

Communication Ports

Each of the four ports are independently configurable for channel (RS232, RS422, RS485)(DE9 female), data rate, and protocol:

Two Primary Ports are provided, primarily for Master communications, configurable to
150-9600bps (asynchronous), or
150-2400bps (synchronous)

An optional High-speed Port is available for 10 or 11bit asynchronous communications at 9,600115,200bps

A single Maintenance Port is provided for unit configuration and/or local MMI

This assembly is provided in the following versions (XXX designation of part number).

-002: Unit card, includes the components for implementing the high speed serial port (comm port #3)
-003: Unit card, includes the components for supplying a precision voltage reference for the A/D Converter (protocol issues)
-004: Unit card, combination of assemblies in both -002 and 003 versions.
