I/O CARD

This COMMANDER I/O function card interfaces 8 digital input signals to a companion Base/Expansion cardfile assembly.

These inputs will process pulsing signals provided their frequency and associated debounce times are compatible (ie 40Hz @ 10msec debounce). Applicable status points will have an associated 16-bit register for holding the count values.

• Commons per card: 8 (isolated)
• ON voltage: >2.0V
• OFF voltage: <1.5V
• Input impedance: 2.2K
• Input isolation: 5000V (optical coupler)
• Input signal must sink 5-10mA
  from 12-24VDC source. Signals > 24V require external scaling resistor.
• Debounce firmware selectable from 2-255ms
• Terminal types: Removable terminal or IDC (ribbon cable) header as specified

Operating power

• 10-14VDC input power, from Base assembly
• Typical logic current drain <5mA
• Optional LED indicators draws 3mA each when turned on

Transient protection

• Meets or exceeds IEEE C37.90A-1987
  surge withstanding specification

Operating environment (electronics)

• Standard -10 to +70°C temperature
• 0 to 95% relative humidity (non-condensing)

COMMON INPUT VALUES

Higher voltage levels may be found for indication signals. This is accommodated by adding an external voltage dropping resistor in series with the plus terminal of the card. The nominal resistor values for various voltage levels are:

Use of the Universal Termination Assembly, or equivalent, is recommended when status signals exceed 48V.
